I have many things to be grateful for.

Myspace.com -my very first inspiration to pursue graphic design- has this new “photo CUSTOMIZER. “
Pfft.

Not cool Myspace, not cool.

Let me explain why in this letter I wrote:

Dear Myspace,

I see that you have added yet another EZ-BUTTON to your website customization features and I’m not happy about it.
First, you started with the customizable pages… which totally took away my advantage of knowing HTML. But I got over that and learned to appreciate the feature as it enabled my peers to visually display what they were about. Then you added the music player… which once again made my advantage available to all… however I did appreciate seeing my friends’ choices in music, eventually.

But THIS… This new “photo-editing software” you’ve decided to share with your billions of users.. this has gone too far. I spend hours, days, weeks, months, YEARS (okay, not years) making my photos artistic with my photo editing tricks that are so special to me. My passion is now available to the nearest 14 year old girl who wants a duo toned photo at the click of a mouse.

You’ve once again made the passion, creativity and skill that I’ve worked so hard for years acquiring, available to anyone who feels like “being different”.

I am very upset with you this time and I’m not sure I can forgive you.

Lucky for me, I know my art will always be my own and the designs I create will never be replicable because I make them THE HARD WAY. Authenticity and passion are the things I know I will never be robbed of.

As for now, I will be giving you the silent treatment.
